Many of you know that Big South Fork and Obed Wild & Scenic River both have photography competitions each year.  The deadline for entry is July 15 which is fast approaching.  We have had several requests to head up that way to give folks an opportunity for shots to enter.

Tuesday July 7 we will meet at 9 am at the Twin Arches Trail (map and other information to be provided to registrants before event).  There are two options for hikes a 1.4 mile round trip and a 4 mile loop trail.  We plan to explore in this area until approximately lunchtime. You should bring a picnic lunch and plenty to drink as well.  Then we will head South on Highway 27 to Nemo Bridge Picnic Area at Obed Wild & Scenic River.  The water contact ban after the train derailment has been lifted, but we will evaluate any potential issues before the event.  We will explore Nemo Bridge area and if you want to do so, hike up to the Emory River Gorge Overlook.  There are lots of plants and ferns along this trail as well.  We should be finished and headed home by 5:30 p.m.

We will provide directions, detailed itinerary and equipment suggestions to registrants, but there should be a host of opportunities from streams, vistas, plant life, and birds.  We hope to see you there.
