September 2001 Meeting

photoSANP member, Dick Dickenson , inspired all of us with his programs "Dare to bephoto Different" and the “Life and Times of the Monarch Butterfly” at the September SANP meeting. Dick shared with the club members some excellent ideas for getting published. If you believe that enthusiasm and a love for your work are essential ingredients to success, then it is easy to see why Dick's work appears in so many publications.

Dick also went into some detail concerning the techniques he uses to capture his images. This is the kind of information many club members relish. It is also this willingness to share information with others that makes SANP such a great club.

All images on this page, including the Monarch Caterpillar shown here were captured by Ron McConathy at the photomeeting using his Nikon 950 Digital Camera.

SANP member Brad Cottrell, examines the equipment that Dick used for photographing the "Life and Times of the Monarch Butterfly". In addition to his equipment, Dick brought with him caterpillars that he made available to interested members. You can see one in the image above.
