Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers
Is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to photography of the natural environment. Our motto is "Sharing the Awareness of Nature thru Photography." Founded in 1991, SANP's home base is the Knoxville, TN, area, which abounds in superb nature photo opportunities. We are near the Appalachian Mountains, the Smokies, and the lakes, streams and
pastoral valleys of East Tennessee.
We have nine meetings a year. These are held the LAST Tuesday of the month. We do not meet in December or in June and July.
Our meetings feature highly skilled nature photographers from our region as well as nationally known artists from across the country. In addition, we have numerous field trips and seminars which are free to our more than 150 members. Our annual Salon is in February during which we display the entries and award hundreds of dollars in merchandise to the winners.
We have a Yahoo group where member can share photos and ask for advice on photography. Click here for more info on the group.
